Letter of Invitation

Dear Colleagues,

We are very pleased to invite you for the IT Revolutions 2010 International Symposium, Toward a Visible u-Driven Future: Emerging Trends for G-20 Seoul Summit in 2010, to be held from April 22 to 23, 2010 in Seoul, Korea. The Symposium will be co-hosted by the Korea Forum for Electronic Government (KFeG) and the Institute for Computer Sciences, social-Informatics and Telecommunications (ICST). The Symposium will be sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Public Administration and Security (MOPAS). Other IT industry corporations including Sam Sung SDS, LG-CNS, SK C&C, KT, and Korea Venture Business Association will also be sponsoring the symposium with their own prepared presentations and company tours.

Newly emerging ubiquitous technologies are now once again transforming the world industry and society through u-Government services, u-commerce, and u-communities. Ubiquitous driven technologies provide opportunities for us to connect people with intelligent devices at anytime and anywhere. It incites us to take off our imagination for designing a new promising future society in which human and technologies are intertwined in harmony. We hope each nation and the whole world are able to find out breakthrough by the advantages of these u-driven technologies. Unfortunately, it has become increasingly difficult for each nation to predict the direction and depth of changes in technology revolutions without reference to other nations¡¯ policies and strategies. It is now the time to share our ideas and experiences for repositioning the status of u-driven future with more innovative and visible goals, strategies, and solutions. Korea has constructed the leading information infrastructure in the world but need to move to the next stage of u-Society embracing the change as well as alignment with the social needs. We hope that this international symposium will provide a launching point for elevating the u-driven future with IT revolutions and opportunities grounded in coordinated efforts by government representatives, research funding agencies, IT corporate vendors, and academic community. The symposium will serve as a platform for professionals around the world to discuss revolutionary aspects of upcoming challenges concerning convergence of technology, society, culture, and governance. Furthermore, Korea was announced to host the G-20 Summit in Seoul in the year of 2010. Our conference will help explore the agenda for this summit regarding the use of IT for the sake of national competitiveness. Discussions and presentations are scheduled with the participation of the representative government agents in charge of policies and regulations in Korea.

If you want to present the paper in the Symposium, please send your manuscript or power point presentation format by January 31 to Dr. Hee-Dong Yang, editor of the organizing committee (hdyang@ewha.ac.kr) as KFeG and ICST will produce a symposium proceeding for distribution.

In the mean time, Ji Wun Lee (jwlee@itsa.or.kr), technical co-chair of the organizing committee will contact you with more details about the program.
